Samsung Strengthens Dual-Sim Portfolio In India

Samsung Electronics Co has strengthened the dual-sim portfolio in India by introducing three dual SIM smartphones along with a Samsung Logocouple of dual SIM feature phones in the country. The dual-SIM smartphones launched in the country are Galaxy Ace Duos, Galaxy Y Pro Duos and Galaxy Y Duos. The feature phone dual-SIM phones launched are Samsung Champ Deluxe Duos and Star 3 Duos. The phones boast of several features which makes them quite enticing.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is equipped with dual-SIM active technology which makes it possible for users to remain on GSM and CDMA numbers simultaneously. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and operations in the device is powered by an 832MHz processor. Galaxy Ace Duos boasts of 8.89 cm HVGA display and derives its power from a 1650mAH battery. It is also equipped with EvDO Rev A capability. Galaxy Ace Duos is priced at approximately Rs 16,900.

Meanwhile Galaxy Y Pro Duos is the first dual SIM QWERTY Android phone which offers robust connectivity with support for WiFi direct and BT 3.0 support. The phone also supports Social Hub premium which helps users to remain connected with their near and dear ones. The phone offers better productivity by including Polaris and Find My Mobile Professional applications. Samsung says that with the help of Polaris one can easily view and edit a wide range of Office documents and at the same time one can work with Powerpoint, Excel and PDF files. The phone has a 6.5cm LOVGA Capacitive Touch Screen and is powered by a 1350mAH battery and can be purchased for Rs 11,090.

Samsung Champ Deluxe Duos has a virtual QWERTY keypad with a variety of apps which includes Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, GTalk and MSN. Connectivity in the phone is taken care by Bluetooth 3.0 and Push Mail. The phone also has a 1.3MP camera, MP3 player, FM radio and a 3.5mm earphone jack. The phone can be snapped for Rs 4790.

With these phones in the market Samsung is hoping that that dual SIM services in the country will further consolidate. On the launch of the phones, Ranjit Yadav, Samsung India’s country head (mobile & IT) said that the devices have the features of smartphones which give consumers the opportunity to balance their work. With the latest launch of the phones, Samsung has 16 smartphone models in the Indian market. It is to be noted that Samsung claims itself to be the market leader in India’s smartphone segment with a market share of 41%.
