Samsung S5830 is another product from the tech savvy mobile giant which promises its user of better performance and enhanced features. Embedded with Gorilla glass multi touch screen this phone is definitely taking the hype toll.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Review

Samsung has been famous for bringing in high profile designer phones as compared to its other competitors. The best part is that they are now powered by Android and the performance has been given a boost by more powerful internals. They are now competing with better smarter phones in their kit and with every new version they launch the options are getting more interesting for the buyers to decide. Let’s see if this model has really got something to lure them.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Design

As I have said earlier the elegance of a Samsung smart phone is always reflected from its design hence this phone too is a good charmer. It grooms itself with the best in industry gorilla glass as its highly intelligent multi touch screen and is powered by Android 2.2 which is no doubt an older version but the best part is you can easily upgrade it without any problem. It has the interface of the touchwiz3.0 which has been undoubtedly the best it the family of UI Samsung has ever built. Built with a slim breadth of 11.5 mm only with width of 59.9 mm and a height of 112.4 mm it sure fits in the grip perfectly. We find that the sleek slippery touch really brings smoothness to the touch.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Feature

This phone can run on Quad-band GSM and has 3G support for faster connectivity. It supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA support. For better and faster browsing experience this phone is sure to be a pleasure around.

The Android OS 2.2 provide easy interface which is upgradeable to 2.3 Gingerbread, and runs on 800MHz ARM 11 processor with an average memory of 278MB RAM which is more than average for smart phones. The internal memory is 158MB which is expandable up to 32 GB.

The TouchWiz 3.0 user interface customization is very well designed and developed for hassle free use of this phone. Another interesting feature is the SWYPE text input which provides intelligent text provisions for better and faster suggestions.

The 5.0 mega pixel is just more than enough to operate under normal scenario but the picture quality is more than average with a resolution of 2592 X 1944. It can record videos at 320 X 240 and supports video messaging.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Gingerbread

For all those who are depressed that S5830 lacking the latest 2.3 Gingerbread version, the good news is you can upgrade it and that too without any problem. When we upgraded this phone to the latest version we find no glitches or set back effects. The phone works totally fine with GingerBread upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Accesories

During Samsung galaxy Ace Unboxing we found that this phone comes with all the standard accessories as its other predecessors. A manual to understand the working and use of this smart phone, a standard Samsung s5830 charger and an installation disk is a part of the standard packaging. For immediate extra storage the phone comes with 2GB microSD card so that you can store all you data (which we found is very less for what we want to store these days.). Also the installation disk comes with all the necessary drivers and utilities for connecting it with other peripheral devices.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Battery

Galaxy Ace is powered by a standard 1350mAh lithium Ion battery. The battery talk time is 11 hrs on 3G and 6 hr 30 mins on a 2G connection. Though this is company data there are many speculations for a very insufficient battery back up in the market, but when we used it for long conversations we found it to be running quite good though. Wait and watch for more details in here.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Application, Software, Wallpapers and Themes

With Android on board no doubt that the phone will support a huge array of programs and applications. Watch out in Google for variety of apps such as call recorder, phone guard and other necessary apps. Also gaming options are very wide with Android as the market is flooded with wide variety of games. The best part that I love about android is the easily customizable interface and with TouchWiz on the couch this is sure to bring in some great personalized interfaces. Also if you are not comfortable with built in themes you are free to change them easily via Samsung official portal or any other themes that you find on net which supports your version of android. A wide variety of beautiful wallpapers are also available on the Samsung site portal. Also the phone comes with built in apps for social networking sites and other shortcuts which lets you connect at one touch facility.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Launch Date

Ace S5830 has been released in India and worldwide on the last week of February 2011.

Ssamsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Price

Samsung S5830 has been priced at Rs 14990 in India, whereas it is available in UK for 280 pounds. The American price has been set for $450 approx. The best option for UK and US users are if they buy it with their carrier as a tie up package. The cost is sure to tumble down a lot.

Verdict

So coming to the delicate part of providing an unbiased judgment, this phone is great for those who want to experience Androids in Samsung but for all who seeks video conferencing this cell is a total let down. Also with regard to smart messaging this phone is a wonder with intelligent word swap feature included with it but if you are seeking something high profile , this phone has nothing to offer you. But the price range under which it is launched this phone sure as hell will seek better customers other than its competitors.

Nokia C5-03 Review

More commonly known as a more stable and most reliable Brand all over the world, the Nokia brings another phone to the competitive market for its loyal users. It has got everything that one wants of a mobile phone right from feature to looks and as well is very simple to use and operate. No doubt that this phone is speaking a lot for itself but let’s find out if it does really pass our tests.

Nokia C5-03 Design

Nokia lacked the concept for designing beautiful and charming phones in the earlier stages but now it has come up a long way ahead and it now build elegant designs for its phones and they are bound to catch the users attention. Nokia C5-03 has a sleek and slim dimension of 115.8 X 51 X 31.8 mm and is only 93gm to carry. The display screen is 3.2 inches and has a display capacity of 16 million colors. C5-03 has a TV out option which is expected by many users for screen integration and it sure is a good add-on to the phone. It runs on 1 GHz processor which makes it fast enough for handling multiple tasks. NOKIA C5-03 and is powered by Symbian S60v3 Operating System. We did not find any problem while doing multi tasking jobs and the phone runs quite fast enough to feel any delay.

Nokia C5-03 Camera

Nokia is famous for providing cheaper phone when it comes to higher features. This phone has an integrated 5 mega pixel camera with 4X optical Zoom with supported flash and sequence mode. Well when we checked the picture quality of Nokia C5-03 it was pretty good and the color quality was good enough for a better and color representation of the images. The flash provides a better picture and the night mode captures are up to the mark. It has a resolution of 2592X1944 pixels. You can easily set Nokia C5-03 images as wallpaper and they won’t break up into pixels.

It can record video at 720p and 15 frames per second, which gives the videos a very high detailed capturing provision. The rendering is as well very good so that we can have a clear video recording of our beloved moments.

Nokia C5-03 Multimedia

This phone supports almost all standard formats such as Mp3, wav and midi. The sound quality is good and becomes better with headphones plugged in. The cell has an inbuilt player which supports album art cover view and has six pre loaded sets of equalizer which you can too manually scramble to fit in your hearing choice. Coming to the best part that we love about Nokia is the built in FM support which proves that Nokia still has love left for Radio lovers. The phone has a standard 3.5mm jack in port and is compatible with all standard headphone and accessories. But while hands free it totally degrades and sounds like the ones built back two years ago. As I said earlier you need to tune in the equalizer to get the pleasant sound effect.

Now moving down to video support section, this phone really is amazing. It supports Mp4 format and H.264/AVC as well which makes HD video runs flawlessly and clearly on its wonderful 3.2 inch screen. When we tried to rip in the video and run it in as high quality playback the phone just ran the entire video flawlessly and the best part was it didn’t chuckle either in the start or in the end, which is very annoying and is seen in most of the phones these days.

Nokia C5-03 Application

This phone runs on Symbian S60 series version 5 which brings a wide arena of supporting applications for its users. You can find almost any type of apps you want in Google search. Moreover there are many forums which will provide you with all the necessary apps and programs. The phone also supports JAVA and hence many free apps will be flooding the market for the users to feed on. NOKIA C5-03 has some good in built applications as well such as instant messenger which allows you to integrate OVI chat, yahoo, Gmail and all day to day social networks. There is a short cut for twitter and Facebook as well for connecting on one touch and go facility. The push mail support also enhances better email connectivity to the users. We did not find any problem in emailing or using other shortcut apps. They all passed our tests.

Nokia c5-03 Colors

C5-03 is available in wide range of colors, the options include graphite, petrol blue, black, aluminum grey and lime green colors. Professionally we liked the petrol blue one.

Nokia C5-03 Wireless Connectivity

This is a 3.5G quad band GSM supporting phone. This phone has Bluetooth v2.0 embedded for faster data transfer and supports WLAN with HSDPA speed of 10.2Mbps and 2Mbps while running on HSUPA connections. The GPS works fantastic and Nokia OVI maps support is provided to this model which brings value to your money.

Nokia C5-03 Memory

C5-03 comes with mere 40mb on board memory which really is quite orthodox at this age of smart phone but it supports external MicroSD card support up to 16GB. Many of the Nokia users will find this quite annoying that 32 GB support is still unavailable in the phones of economy range and we also feel that they should have done it by now. Come on, now everybody needs more space.

Nokia C5-03 Unboxing

The Nokia standard Unboxing feature applicable in this phone as well. This implies a standard NOKIA C5-03 charger, battery a USB cable for connecting it with peripheral devices and a TV out cable is the added extra thing in it. There is also an installation disk includes all necessary drivers and instructions. A normal Nokia Headphone with embedded microphone is also provided with the bundle.

Nokia C5-03 Qwerty

Since there is no keypad or keyboard for this phone it does have a good QWERTY interface. You can easily type in with the onscreen pads and the touch sensor has been improved a lot in this model for hassle free experience. We did find some problem while tapping with less pressure and it misses the input. Although we did rate it 8 out of 10 for this touch feature.

Nokia C5-03 Launch Date

NOKIA C5-03 has been launched in India by February 2011 and was tagged at Rs 12,000 while the UK buyers have been flawed with 110 pounds. The approximate price for US varies a lot with network providers providing it at much cheaper rates. The best option for them would be to consult their respective Service provider’s rates.

Nokia C5-03 Battery

As usual this phone supports an excellent talk time of up to 11.5hrs in 2G network and 5hrs in 3G connections. Continuous Mp3 playback time has been predicted to be more than 35hrs but we found that it stays enough well for up to 28hrs. It provides a maximum standby by time up to 600 hrs that is quite impressive.

Nokia C5-03 Ovisuite

You can download OVI suite directly from the Nokia official website. And if you have an older version of Suite installed you can upgrade it directly from the OVI interface.

Verdict

This phone was tested and tried by us very hard and we found that it passed all our tests except for hands free clarity and low tapping pressure situations. Other than this NOKIA C5-03 is best featured phone in best economic price. This is definitely a go go for Middle class buyers. The phone won’t let you down.

HTC Desire S Review

What would happen when a technology giant is obsessed with its own creation and still tries to bring better product in to the market? It becomes better more stable and more Reliable. It is a fact that HTC users are Loyal Users and the chance of changing their brand is very less. The only reason is the better innovation and faster performance with every new version. Let us see if HTC DESIRE S keeps it promises to the people.

HTC DESIRE S Design

Built with keeping in mind the similar sleek size of its predecessors HTC DESIRE S is worthy of praise. Weighing only 130gms and 115mm height HTC DESIRE S easily fits in your palm and 59.8mm width perfectly fits in your grip.

HTC DESIRE S Display and Features

This HTC model has a display screen of 3.7 inches with a resolution of 480 X 800. HTC DESIRE S has GORILLA GLASS screen as its display which means less or no scratches and an increased display life with quality colors. QWERTY keypad slider is not available in this version.

It is powered by none other than Android v2.3 [Gingerbread] for better and running on 1GHz Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU with Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon board. HTC DESIRE S is equipped with 768 RAM on board which provides faster multitasking environment under tough conditions.

HTC DESIRE S Multimedia

HTC DESIRE S has everything that you can wish for in it. Right from a powerful camera resolution to enhanced HD recording this phone serves almost all the purpose of a portable Media gadget.

HTC DESIRE S Camera

The powerful HTC DESIRE S has a 5 megapixel rear camera with 2592 X 1944 enhanced pixels supported by LED flash. The picture quality can be rated more than average in comparison with its own class but by no means has it fulfilled the expectation of a hardcore photographer. While experimenting with the capture quality for the environments with less or very little light the onboard flash overrides the complete environment and the resulting capture is quite clear. The salient inclusive features include geo-tagging, image stabilization and tap to focus functionalities.

The front camera is VGA and color fixed facility and is ideal for video conversations and the quality is good enough since we did not find any glitches during the video conversations.

It also provides 720p HD video recording to capture memories in its best colors and quality. The quality of recording is more than average but lags behind in comparison to real life color HD recorders.

HTC DESIRE S Video

HTC DESIRE S supports all standard formats and codes to run smoothly in its arena. The screen is fair enough to give a good color impression for normal as well as HD Videos.

Complete specification is provided as under:

Playback:.3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9), .avi (MP4 ASP and MP3), .xvid (MP4 ASP and MP3)

Recording:.3gp

HTC DESIRE S Audio quality

HTC DESIRE S supports all standard formats and codes to run smoothly in its arena.

Complete specification is provided as under:

Playback:.aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma (Windows Media Audio 9)

Recording:.amr

It comes with a 3.5mm regular jack to support all standard headphones. The audio quality is good and there are no squeaks when you jog it to full volume.

HTC DESIRE S Apps and Software

HTC DESIRE S being an android power phone is built to support varied apps and software. Due to nonexistence of any preloaded games you will have to hop in to good android forums to catch them. There are very good games designed by developers like poker and car race for this version of android. It also has a digital navigator which can guide you in a precise manner with the digital compass. It also has short cut facilities provide for standard daily used apps such as YouTube, Facebook and other social networking sites along with Picasa integration.

Supported by Java Desire S can also facilitate powerful modern day java apps and games.

HTC DESIRE S Connectivity

This phone has all the standard connectivity options which are GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth connectivity has been upgraded to v2.1. It can download at 114kbps under GPRS and 560kbps. HTC DESIRE S also has DLAN support which means that you can connect it wireless to your supported TV screens.

HTC DESIRE S Basic Performance

Overall this is a good phone when it comes to sending and receiving call, after all the price has its quality as well. Flawless sending and receiving of SMS email and push mail. Not to forget about the Stereo FM RDS radio, which is quite good as most of the phones now days don’t provide FM which is quite unfavorable by some users.

The standard HTML browser is quite good in performance while browsing through many complex website which incorporate complex coding.

Some of our users have reported of call quality being compromised when they put their hand above the phone near the signal vault. Also some reports are there of call drop under Wi-Fi spots though these have not been officially verified.

HTC DESIRE S Release date

HTC DESIRE S has been released in the second half of March 2011 and has already started getting good reviews. HTC DESIRE S officially available now in all the countries including India US and UK.

HTC DESIRE S Cost

HTC DESIRE S is available in India for Rs 22000 – Rs 24000 which is fair enough in comparison to its competitors in the same class. It can be said a fair enough deal for users who want an HTC experience for a bargain able price tag.

It has been launched in US at a wide range of $500 to $600 which means that the carrier rates are to be consulted before you plan to buy one.

Its EU price has been tagged for 500 EURO.

Its price in UK is around approx 315 POUNDS.

HTC DESIRE S Accessories

HTC DESIRE S has standard Unboxing contents which include a standard charger a headset and HTC software CD for communicating with PCs and other environments. It also has a USB connectivity cable with it for connecting it to computer and other similar devices. The Battery of course is a part of the standard packaging of HTC DESIRE S phone. The Desire S uses a micro USB connector as well, so all of the best cell phone accessories for HTC phones will still work.

HTC DESIRE S Battery Performance

It is fuelled by standard Lithium Li-Ion 1450mAh battery which provides a standard standby time up to 430hrs and 9hrs 50 talk time for a 2G environment and 7+ hrs in 3G networks.

VERDICT

If you are a non HTC user and you want to join the HTC family this phone can be a good start for you. The price range is good in compared to the standard HTC pricing and the Android environment is also fair enough to take your experience for smoother interactivity. This phone has no glitches in calling and other mail experience and you have the best apps support for androids so you can also experiment with variety of application and programs.

BUT if you are already an HTC user this phone has nothing new to offer. This version lacks the modern day updated environment patches and it also seeks an OS upgrade as we all know the UPDATED android version has already hit the market and Sony Ericson and Samsung already started providing users the better and smarter phones.
