LG Cookie flip is referred to as a clamshell phone which disregarding its big size is very sleek & extremely impressive when looked at. It’s available in 3 colours Aqua Blue, Cutie Pink, & Boyish Titanium. The major focus of this brand is today’s hip & happening women, its major highlight actually lies on its good looks. LED lights on the outer panel that blink are absolutely bewitching. Added to that those lights are easily customisable; an user is allowed to create different patterns depending on their wish & set up those for a several functions like incoming or the outgoing calls, messages, missed calls, etc. Beside the LED lights it has a transparent lining in the upper flap, which has colourful lights on the border & lights up each time the user receives a call. Further the shade of these lights could also be customized. Under this review we use the Cutie Pink model. Its body has been made up by shimmering plastic & apart from fragile looks, phone is actually very sturdy. It has a inner panel which is white & goes well with adding the girlish looks to the phone.
Its top panel has a screen and the bottom panel has the control key cluster & an alphanumeric keypad. It has a Circular D-pad which is Silver in colour & rest of the function keys is also circular. Looking at the left of the D-pad we find a soft key known as ‘My Stuff’ & the task manager, coming to the right side we see the ‘contact’ soft key, with a key for customizing its front lighting. Under the D-pad, it has a single row, is the calling, clear & call end keys. These keys are placed in an elliptical pattern. Placement of the 3 rows of alphanumeric keys also has a similar pattern. Keypad of the handset is flat and is very comfortable when used. Bottom left panel includes the volume rocker & right one has a USB/ Charger/ headphones slot clubbed with the camera key. The back panel of the handset sports the camera.
Beauty & Brains
The whole interface is designed in a way by which the phone appears to be a work of art, quite literally. Taking an example in one of the wallpapers, multimedia icon is hand drawn star & an icon of the cloud depicts its settings feature. It has two inbuilt colour themes. One of them is pink & the other is sky-blue. Comparing in terms of its features, it supports both the POP3 & IMAP4 email clients. A person is able to choose the maximum size of an attachment with an e-mail up to 1 MB. The setting up of an account is easy, as it has very easy step-by-step instructions. PDF files are also compatible and could be opened on the phone with the Picasa File Viewer. It also has Google maps which utilize A-GPS & it also comes with the Google search. In the Google Maps a user could search for any location & also get its route. Having the A-GPS, the search & routing is comparatively very fast. The phone has several other applications for the users. Some of them are LG help desk, Yahoo!, Google, & few popular messengers. A user could also enjoy various elements such as Just Cricket, & motion sensor games. A drawback is that the phone doesn’t have any pre-loaded links of popular SNS sites such as the Facebook & Twitter. The Connectivity options of the handset include Bluetooth & USB.
